General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for ChefTreff event participants

§ 1 General
1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (“GTC”) apply to all ticket sales by Be Brave gUG (haftungsbeschränkt) (hereinafter “Organizer”) to its visitors (hereinafter “Participants”) as part of ChefTreff Events.
1.2 The Organizer is a non-profit entrepreneurial company (haftungsbeschränkt) dedicated to the promotion of education and upbringing as well as the promotion of education and vocational training.
1.3 The contract is concluded in German. These GTC can be accessed by the participant at any time at https://chef-treff.de/agb.
§ 2 Ticket ordering and conclusion of contract
2.1 Ticket categories
Tickets can be ordered for the following categories, subject to availability:
- Student & Graduate Pass (proof of student/graduate status required)
- Early Career Pass (up to 30 years)
- Academic & Science Pass
- Startup Pass
- Regular Pass
- Investor Pass
- Partner Pass
The current ticket prices (€39 – €199) can be found on the website and may vary depending on the time of booking (early booking discounts).
2.2 Payment processing
The respective ticket price is due immediately. Payment is processed via the payment platform of vivenu GmbH, Völklinger Straße 33, 40221 Düsseldorf, Germany. At the event, payments are processed by Global Event Technologies GmbH & Co KG, Neualmerstraße 37, 5400 Hallein, Austria.
2.3 Conclusion of contract
The contract is concluded when the organizer confirms the ticket order. The means of payment specified by the participant will be debited immediately after the ordering process.
§ 3 Masterclasses and side events
3.1 Separate registration is required for master classes and side events. The organizer, together with the person responsible for the content, will make a selection from all applicants. There is no entitlement to admission.
3.2 The name, e-mail address, company, position and other job-related information of the selected participants will be transmitted to the organizing company in order to enable an exchange during the event and afterwards.
§ 4 Return of tickets / Cancellation / Right of withdrawal
4.1 Purchased tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. Cancellations by participants cannot be made. This also applies in the event of illness, non-attendance or other reasons.
4.2 Tickets can only be returned if the event is canceled or postponed unreasonably. A postponement shall be deemed unreasonable if the new date or venue is not reasonable for the participant, taking into account his/her legitimate interests. However, this does not apply if the cancellation or postponement is due to force majeure (see § 6).
4.3 The Organizer shall immediately announce any cancellation or postponement of the event on its website. In the event of a cancellation or unreasonable postponement, the organizer will refund the ticket price.
4.4 In accordance with Section 312g (1), (2) No. 9 BGB, the participant has no statutory right of withdrawal, even if he/she orders tickets as a consumer and not as an entrepreneur.
4.5 Exhibitor, speaker and topic announcements are non-binding and may be changed by the organizer at any time.
§ 5 promo codes and discounts
5.1 Promo codes are voucher codes that are issued by the organizer for a specific person or group of persons and/or with a specific period of validity and lead to a reduction in the ticket price. By using a promo code, the user declares that he/she is authorized to use it.
5.2 The sale or other transfer of promo codes to third parties for purposes other than those specified by the organizer is prohibited. In the event of misuse, the organizer is entitled to cancel and reverse the ticket purchase.
§ 6 Force majeure
6.1 If the event does not take place or is postponed due to circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control, such as force majeure (e.g. pandemics, natural disasters, war, acts of terrorism, official orders), the Organizer shall not be liable for any resulting losses or damages.
6.2 In this case, the ticket will not be refunded unless the event is completely canceled and cannot be rescheduled at a later date.
§ 7 Transfer and expiry of tickets
7.1 Tickets are personal and non-transferable. A transfer is only possible via the official ticketing system up to one day before the start of the event.
7.2 Tickets that are not completed in full (surname, first name, e-mail address) by one day before the start of the event will expire and no longer entitle the holder to admission.
§ 8 Admission to the event
8.1 The participant must present a valid ticket at the admission control without being asked. As the tickets are personal, the participant may be asked to show a valid official identification document.
8.2 If the participant is granted admission, he/she will receive a non-transferable event badge which he/she must carry with him/her during the entire event.
8.3 In order to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all participants, the organizer reserves the right to refuse entry to participants who appear aggressive or abusive or who are under the influence of intoxicants.
8.4 Random bag checks will be carried out. Weapons or dangerous objects may not be brought into the event rooms.
§ 9 Venue and domiciliary rights
9.1 The event shall take place at the Congress Centrum Hamburg (CCH). In addition to these GTC, the house rules and the General Event Terms and Conditions of the CCH apply.
9.2 The organizer exercises the house rules. In the event of violations of the house rules, the participant may be excluded from further participation.
9.3 Smoking is strictly prohibited in the event rooms.
§ 10 Event app and networking
10.1 The Organizer shall provide an event app that participants can use to network. Use of the app is voluntary.
10.2 Participants can indicate in the app whether they are open to job offers or networking requests. In this case, their contact details can be passed on to interested companies or other participants.
10.3 The data protection provisions for the use of the app are set out in the separate privacy policy.
§ 11 Cloakroom
11.1 A checkroom is available for a fee. No liability is accepted for items left outside the official checkroom.
11.2 No liability is accepted for valuables, money or keys, even if they are left in the checkroom.
§ 12 Photo and video recordings
12.1 Professional photo and video recordings will be made during the event. These may be used for marketing and documentation purposes by the organizer.
12.2 By purchasing a ticket, the participant agrees that the organizer may use recordings in which he/she can be seen for advertising purposes, documentation and reporting.
12.3 Participants who do not wish to be photographed or filmed can contact the organizer.
§ 13 Data protection
13.1 The Organizer processes and uses the Participant’s personal data only to process the ticket order, carry out the event and for communication before and after the event.
13.2 When registering for master classes or side events, the name, e-mail address, company, position and other professional information will be transmitted to the respective session organizer for the purpose of selection and contact.

§ 14 Liability of the organizer
14.1 The Organizer’s liability is limited to intent and gross negligence. In the event of slight negligence, the organizer shall only be liable in the event of a breach of material contractual obligations, but the amount of liability shall be limited to the foreseeable damage typical of the contract.
14.2 The limitation of liability shall not apply in the event of injury to life, limb or health or in the event of breach of guarantees or claims under the Product Liability Act.
14.3 The organizer is not liable for damages caused by force majeure, official orders or other unforeseeable events.
14.4 The Organizer shall not be liable for items brought to the event by the Participant, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
§ 15 Liability of the participant
15.1 The participant is liable for all damage caused during the event.
15.2 The participant undertakes to behave appropriately during the event and to follow the instructions of the organizer’s staff.
§ 16 GEMA fees
16.1 Registration and payment of GEMA fees shall be made by the organizer.
§ Section 17 Severability clause
17.1 Should individual provisions of these GTC be or become invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
17.2 The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by an appropriate provision that comes closest to the economic purpose of the invalid provision.
§ Section 18 Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
18.1 German law shall apply to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
18.2 The place of performance and jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contractual relationship is Hamburg, provided that the participant is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law.
